Texas Harley-Davidson dealership receives chamber of commerce award

Texas Harley-Davidson, part of the Calculated Risk family of dealerships and the largest Harley-Davidson dealership in Texas, has been recognized by the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Chamber of Commerce with the Mid-Size Business of the Year award. Texas Harley-Davidson was recognized for its commitment to the Bedford community and its contributions to local charitable organizations.

“This honoree is incredibly involved in our community,” said Steve Farco, 2017 Chamber of Commerce chairman of the board. “Texas Harley-Davidson organized a Christmas toy collection and helped distribute food for Mission Arlington. They’ve been a valued supporter of the HEB ISD Education Foundation, and for the last two years, sponsored the chamber’s Chili Challenge. In October, Texas Harley welcomed kids into the store for free trick-or-treating and they offer the dealership’s meeting facilities to the public at no charge. They also collected bottled water to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Texas Harley-Davidson also hosted a bake sale and sock drive to benefit the Community Storehouse,” added Farco.

Texas Harley-Davidson was also recognized for its long-standing support of the Bedford Animal Shelter. The dealership regularly uses its social media platforms to post photos of adoptable animals and has hosted adoption events. Team members also recognize active military members every Friday by wearing RED, an acronym for Remember Everyone Deployed.

“We have been a long-time supporter of Community Storehouse, which is dedicated to helping low-income children in our community,” said Purdom. “Texas Harley-Davidson has just recently donated a 2018 Harley-Davidson Softtail Slim for a raffle benefiting Community Storehouse. We sold only 250 $100 raffle tickets with 100 hundred percent of proceeds going toward the children’s programs at Community Storehouse.”

“Congratulations to Texas Harley,” said Mary Martin Frazior, president and CEO of the HEB Chamber of Commerce. “You do so much for our community and it’s an honor to recognize you for your outstanding work.”
