USMCA releases workshop update

The following email was sent as a workshop update from Jon-Erik Burleson, Mark Blackwell and Jeff Emig of the United States Motorcycle Coaching Association (USMCA):

This email is intended to give a quick update as to the progress of the United States Motorcycle Coaching Association (USMCA) over the past few months. On behalf of our Board and supporting team, we are extremely thankful for the continued support and engagement from the industry and coaching community. Since our summit in Dallas we have completed two workshops (Indianapolis for Motocross/Off-Road and Fontana for Road Racing/Track Days) to begin the journey toward the first certifications. The vibe from each workshop has been incredible and the general commitment toward working together to grow our sport, be inclusive and ultimately make our sports safer has been nothing less than incredible.

We have 4 more workshops in front of us that will conclude by the end of May. Additionally, with the support of so many of you in the industry, we feel the need to put our thoughts around a 3-year USMCA plan down on paper. We are currently working through the first iterations to present the plan to our Board in our next Board Meeting on May 8th. With a clear commitment to certify the first 100 coaches, we are working diligently in each of the workshops to develop a peer review system to have in place by the end of September. This system will ensure Coaches are the key leaders in the process. Lastly, with this goal in sight, we are working through the concepts and ideas to become consumer facing under our www.MotorcycleCoaching.org initiative by late 2017.
