Triumph recalls 2,800 bikes
Triumph Motorcycles of America, LTD has recalled 2,800 bikes because the electronic control unit (ECU) hardware and software in the affected models may improperly detect the motorcycle’s throttle position, causing the bike to shut down.
The recall affects certain 2012-14 Tiger Explorer ABS A1 and 2013-14 Tiger Explorer Spoke ABS XC A1 and Trophy SE A1 motorcycles manufactured Nov. 17, 2011, through Dec. 16, 2013. Triumph is notifying owners of the affected bikes, so dealers can update and install new ECU hardware and software.
