Right Rider Access Fund continues OHV support
According to the recently released 2012 Annual Report, the Right Rider Access Fund awarded $520,974 in grants supporting off-highway vehicle programs and land access last year. Created in 2011 to ensure that enthusiasts can safely and responsibly operate their OHVs and access riding areas, the 501(c)(3) Fund supplements the work of the Motorcycle Industry Council, the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America and the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association, as well as riding clubs, dealers and OHV organizations.
Fund grants were awarded to OHV riding areas to repair storm damage, educational groups and research organizations that develop and provide OHV programs, business associations that responsibly preserve OHV recreation, and more. Grant funding is supported by contributions from MIC, SVIA and ROHVA and their member companies; other powersports industry fundraising; payroll deductions and matching gift programs; and individual or company donations.
“The Right Rider Access Fund is honored to work with a powerful network of private and public partners who share our vision for the future of off-highway recreation,” said MIC president Tim Buche. “Thanks to the leadership, support and diligence of the Fund Board of Trustees and the generosity of our donors, we have successfully supported OHV safety, training and education programs, and promoted land access. But we can’t do this without donations and we encourage all enthusiasts to support the Fund. ‘Giving to Ride’ for the powersports industry is as simple as companies setting up payroll deductions and matching gift programs. Help us build a healthier America by encouraging kids and their families to get outdoors and ride.”
Right Rider Access Fund combines the existing support of the powersports industry associations with contributions from businesses and individuals. The fund uses industry expertise on a charitable basis to manage the work of the Fund, with the result being that 100 percent of contributions support riders. The breadth of the funding sources, the depth of expertise and the absence of overhead make the Fund a one-of-a kind resource for OHV enthusiasts.
