Polaris Ranger gets strong satisfaction marks from dealers
Dealer satisfaction with sales of the Polaris Ranger side-by-side is undeniably strong, according to results from the Powersports Business/RBC Capital Markets Q3 Dealer Survey.
One question in the quarterly survey of 191 dealers from 46 states and Canada asked dealers to denote their level of satisfaction of sales by the various side-by-side brands. Polaris products were the hands-down winners. Eighty-seven percent of responding dealers indicated they were somewhat or extremely satisfied with Ranger sales vs. 9 percent of dealers indicating they were somewhat or extremely unsatisfied. Feedback on RZRs was similar, with 69 percent of dealers reporting satisfaction vs. 13 percent unsatisfied.
Among North American competitors, John Deere scored the best in a single-digit sample size, followed by Can-Am. Nine of 16 respondents (56 percent) reported being “extremely unsatisfied” with sales of Arctic Cat’s Wildcat, with availability potentially more of an issue than weak demand.
Dealers expressed a high level of dissatisfaction with both Honda and Yamaha, neither of which has brought any product news to the market.
The number of dealers who responded is as follows: Ranger, 70; RZR, 69; Rhino, 58; Mule, 43; Teryx, 43; Big Red, 30; Commander, 23; Prowler, 21; Wildcat, 16; Gator, 8.
