Black Book values dip in September
Pre-owned values for powersports vehicles took a large month-to-month dive from August to September.
The cruiser segment is down the most, at a negative 4.3 percent. And the domestic V-twin market took an even bigger hit, down about 5 percent for most models, with the exception of smaller displacement entry-level bikes, Black Book managing editor Ricky Beggs said.
Off-road bikes were down 4.0 percent, and street bikes, dual-sport models and scooters were each down about 3 percent. PWC finally made its seasonal drop, down 2.6 percent as summer comes to a close.
Surprisingly, however, ATVs and side-by-sides were also down at a time when they usually increase. ATV values dropped 3.3 percent, and UTVs are down 2.9 percent.
Up for the month are snowmobiles, as dealers start stocking for the winter. Sleds were up 2.4 percent for the month.
