Honda of South Carolina builds 2 millionth ATV engine

The Honda of South Carolina (HSC) manufacturing plant in Timmonsville, S.C., has produced its 2 millionth ATV engine.

The milestone engine that recently rolled off the dyno at HSC was built for a TRX500 Foreman Rubicon. The HSC plant is a 536,150-square-foot facility on 625 acres. It opened in 1998 and added engine production in 2000. The facility is dedicated solely to the production of Honda ATVs, and it has the ability to produce 266,000 ATVs and 310,000 engines annually. To date, more than 2 million Honda ATVs have also been produced at HSC.

“I would like to thank all of our associates for helping us achieve this major milestone,” HSC president Brian Newman said. “This facility is unique among all Honda plants in the U.S. as it is dedicated solely to the production of Honda ATVs that are sold not only here in the U.S. but also around the world. This is American manufacturing at the highest Honda quality level, and we take great pride in this milestone.”
