Ural Motorcycles sales increase 25 percent in first half

Ural Motorcycles has seen a 25 percent increase in retail sales in the U.S. in the first half of 2012 compared to the first half of 2011.

Russia-based Ural reports strong sales in all of its markets, with Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan and Russia all showing an increase compared to the first half of 2011. Australian distributor Jon Taylor is spending time this week at the Ural factory in Irbit, Russia.

Chuck Schram, director of dealer development, reports the addition of several new U.S. and Canadian dealers in the first half of the year. Some of the recent additions in 2012 include Motorsports Superstore, Hamilton, Ala.; GoAZ Motorcycles, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Scooter and Auto Source, Prescott, Ariz.; Los Angeles Harley-Davidson, Fullerton, Calif.; San Diego BMW Motorcycles, San Diego, Calif.; Street Stuff, Inc., Norwich, Conn.; Ural of Naples, Naples, Fla.; The Buffalo Scooter Company, Buffalo, N.Y.; Ural of Cleveland, Aurora, Ohio; West Hills Honda, Moon Township, Pa.; BMW Motorcycles of North Dallas, Plano, Texas; Ducati of San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas; Addictive Behavior Motor Works, Salt Lake City, Utah; Frontline Motorsports, Christiansburg, Va.; Ames Motorsports, Edmonton, Alb.; Ural Toronto, Markham, Ont.; Wheelsport LTD, Orleans, Ont.

  1. This increase is a direct result of the efforts of Mr Schram. I’ve worked with Chuck over the last 11 yrs. He sets the bar very high, and is an example of how a Sales professional should treat his customers.

    I originally worked with him during his time at Polaris Industries. Chuck was all about the dealer as he realized without the dealer you have nothing.

    Too bad some of the manufacturers don’t understand this!!
