Polaris RZR XP 4, 570 “selling very well,” analyst says

Recent dealer checks show high demand for Polaris products, according to a research note provided to Powersports Business by Feltl and Company analyst Mark E. Smith. Smith surveyed dealers in eight key states for sales of the RZR XP, RZR XP 4 and RZR 570.

“We are still seeing strong demand, primarily for the RZR XP 4 and the RZR 570,” Smith reports. “Both of these new products are selling very well in their first year and are nice add-ons to the Polaris lineup. Dealers in general are very pleased with demand and their ability to get supply from Polaris. We have heard rumblings that dealers having some inventory of vehicles is a negative sign for the company, but we think Polaris is doing a better job getting vehicles to dealers following the inability for dealers to get highly sought after RZR XP last year.”

Smith goes on to report that Polaris “ended the snowmobile season with lower dealer inventories than its peers and with a strong lineup of 2013 snowmobiles set to take market share. … We think 10 new snowmobile models this year and high demand for the new RMK will boost sales.”

Smith ends the report by reiterating Feltl’s “BUY” rating. “We are often asked ‘Who is buying these expensive toys in this tough environment?’ Our answer is easy following our test ride: anyone who has ridden them.”
