The highest point for PWC sales for the past five years came in 2007 with 79,647 units sold. Since 2007, sales have dropped year-over-year. In 2008, a total of 20,150 fewer units were sold, more than a quarter less. That trend continued with the worst percentage drop of the five years coming in 2009, with 25.94 percent (15,433) fewer units sold than in the previous year.

The sharp decline lessened in 2010, with year-over-year sales declining by 10.66 percent compared to the same period of 2009.

PWC sales don’t seem to be stabilizing at these levels though, with 4,750 fewer units sold in 2011, a 12.07 percent drop beyond the 4,696 fewer units sold in 2010.
