Tracking and security device expands to new dealership markets

Powersports Businesshas learned that Al3rt GPS is adding trailers, outdoor power equipment, automobiles, boats and more to its lineup of wireless and battery-powered GPS asset recovery offerings for dealerships.

The Al3rt tracking and security device needs no external power as it contains a 5-year battery life under certain conditions, so there’s no host battery drain.

“The Little Brother is a battery powered GPS units that we are rolling out to help dealers protect their inventory from thieves and also for finance companies looking to keep track of floor plan units,” said Tony Tarell, Al3rt GPS VP of Sales. “The device has a strong magnet built inside so it will stick to the frame securely and quickly. It will run for five years on the internal battery and comes with the three years of airtime. This unit can be used to track anything that moves and can also be mounted with the four bolt holes or two zip-tie slots. Little Brother was designed to help recover stolen vehicles when dealerships are broken into and also help them make more money by up selling GPS to the consumer.”

A powerful magnet is built into the device, or the dealer can install with screws or zip ties. IP67-formulated casing for mounting out in the open, and it’s water-tight to 3.3 feet for 30 minutes. Dust can’t penetrate the casing. Reporting intervals can be set to meet your demands, from every 15 minutes to once every 24 hours.

The system uses GPS satellite coordinates as well as Wifi coordinates when in parking garages and concrete buildings. There are no wires to install or cut. It uses an AT&T SIM card using LTE signals, not 2G/3G technology.

The device also has geo-fencing settings. There are no monthly fees to pay.
