Global, U.S. retail sales of new snowmobiles revealed for 2018-19 season

“Isn’t it amazing what happens when it snows?” Ed Klim of the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association (ISMA) asked attendees that rhetorical question at the International Snowmobile Congress (ISC) in Grand Rapids, Michigan, earlier this month. And yes, it is amazing.

According to ISMA data, new snowmobile sales from May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019, totaled 133,081 units worldwide, a 6.6 percent increase compared to the 124,786 that were sold in 2018. There were 118,657 new snowmobiles sold globally in 2017.

Sales in the U.S. comprised 55,025 of the total worldwide units sold, compared to 53,179 machines in the 2018 sales season (a 3.5 percent increase) and 50,659 in 2017.
