Yamaha reveals UMAX Rally 2+2

Yamaha Golf-Car Company recently revealed the newest addition to its UMAX light utility vehicle lineup at the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show: The UMAX Rally 2+2. The new UMAX took center stage at the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show’s Demo Day, as well as at Yamaha’s Booth #2243 at the Orange County Convention Center.

“Our award-winning Drive2 makes us the best on the course, and with the UMAX Rally 2+2 we now offer the best off the course,” said Tom McDonald, president of Yamaha Golf-Car Company. “This car fits your job and your life. We really wanted to provide an edgier solution that would give customers exactly what they needed, regardless of if it’s at work or play.”

Edgier Styling
The UMAX product line started an evolution in the styling of a light utility vehicle, moving away from the classic golf car look to be more like its utility Yamaha relatives. Yamaha further evolves this aesthetic with the UMAX Rally 2+2’s lifted suspension, Yamaha Genuine front brush guard and wide fender flares, plus convertible rear seat with a black, powder-coat finish on the cargo side and a textured floor that complements the rugged appearance of the car.

Convertibility
The UMAX Rally 2+2, like its UMAX and UMAX Rally brethren, takes a page from Yamaha’s Viking Side-by-Side, off-road vehicle by incorporating two luxurious bucket seats in the front, and now, two additional seats in the rear. The convertible, rear-facing seats are steel-constructed for superior durability and strength, while the wrinkle-textured finish of the flooring provides a slip-resistant surface for stability in wet conditions. The standard rear, and seat, handrails give passengers added comfort through any riding environment.

Versatile Power
Like its siblings, the gas-powered UMAX Rally 2+2 boasts a Yamaha-built, 402cc engine with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), granting a smoother, more responsive acceleration and the industry’s smallest carbon footprint. The electric version features a Toyota Industries motor control unit (MCU) and the Delta Q charger for a reliable, alternating current-powered (AC) engine that reduces battery amp hour usage while dramatically increasing torque to better climb hills and travel farther, faster.

Progressive Rear Coil Suspension System
The UMAX Rally 2+2 sports the same progressive rear suspension system as the UMAX, which includes individual coil springs with dual compressions, or two distinct coil spacings on a single spring; a standard spacing on the top of the coil spring for lighter travel, and a tighter coil spacing on the bottom for transporting heavy loads. The result is a smooth ride and enhanced handling whether you’re carrying a full load of cargo or a full car of loved ones.

Store it All
All essentials are easy to carry with a new basket area that spans the width of the car (in between the front and rear convertible seats) where sports equipment, groceries, shopping bags and more can be stowed securely; a spacious under-hood storage compartment that opens like an automobile hood and is sealed to keep water out; two restyled, in-dash storage pockets with anti-slip rubber mats; an added storage area near the cup holders; and a spacious opening between the two front seats, perfect for cell phones, snacks, or tablets.

Additional Touches
Standard UMAX Rally 2+2 vehicles come with LED headlights for a clear white beam of light and wide-ranging coverage; a lifted suspension for higher ground clearance; and Yamaha Genuine front brush guard and wide fender flares. Also, the accelerator and brake pedals have a molded rubber cover for slip resistance and additional comfort. To add a custom touch, Yamaha Genuine accessories are specifically designed to look right, fit right, and perform right from the most fundamental level. And to keep that fresh-out-the-box condition, Yamaha’s Yamalube quality care products and tune-up kits provide the exact protection needed from the inside out for any Yamaha to thrive farther, longer.

The UMAX Rally 2+2 will be rolling out to authorized Yamaha dealers all over the U.S. starting Spring 2019.
