Fifth invitational charity ride slated for May 2-4

The Fifth Invitational WHY WE RIDE to the Quail charity trek will take place May 2-4. The ride will begin in historic Moorpark through the lemon groves of Ventura county and vineyards with a lunch break at the historic Cold Springs Tavern, then finishing up with a ride all the way to picturesque Pismo Beach, CA. The second day heads up the PCH following some of the most talked about stretch of coastal road. Participants will stop to see the elephant seals before continuing on through Big Sur and arriving in the enchanted Carmel Valley in time for The Quail Motorcycle Gathering. All proceeds go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

“The last four years have been inspiring,” said Bryan Carroll, producer of Why We Ride Films, organizers of the event. “We have seen new riders every year but also a core of people who return year after year. Riders have come from multiple states and countries as far away as Mexico and India.”

From new riders to industry veterans, riders from all backgrounds who share a common love of motorcycle riding have participated in the past. In honor of this year’s celebratory fifth year is an extended ride up the PCH, catered BBQ in Big Sur along the river and a night at the Carmel Mission Inn.

Historically, motorcyclists are always up for supporting a good cause, and the diversity of past sponsors and participants illustrates how communities have united to benefit those in need, namely children with serious medical issues. Support for the ride has grown consistently each year.

On top of the picturesque ride, participants will enjoy a bevy of perks, including cocktails and vittles at the WWR Riders Dinner, gift bags, special guest speakers and VIP access to The Quail Motorcycle Gathering, which includes a private ride to the event, exclusive parking and private lounge access.

“This is a rider’s ride,” said Bryan Carroll. “We’ve had a lot of riders from a variety of backgrounds, and everyone really comes together to ride hard and bond. We’re looking to build on that this year to celebrate our fifth year.”

The short documentary about the ride, which has been chosen to screen at The Rome Motorcycle Festival in November, is continuing to raise funds year round on a GoFund Me page.
