Slingshot offers ride-alongs at 2018 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
Slingshot, the fun, three-wheeled open-air roadster, today announced its plans for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally which includes three activations designed to offer enthusiasts and consumers alike the “Ultimate Joyride.” Slingshot is bringing its all-new Slingshot Joyride Course to Sturgis, offering ride-alongs with professional drivers throughout the week. In addition, Slingshot’s new 2019 lineup will be available for demo rides at Rice’s Rushmore Motorsports. A Club Slingshot owners event and ride through the scenic Black Hills will take place on August 9.
“The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally provides the perfect setting to introduce the fun and exciting Slingshot lifestyle to riders from around the country,” said Josh Fulkerson, Slingshot Sr. Director. “The Slingshot Joyride experience gives riders a unique opportunity to ride ‘shotgun’ alongside a professional driver that’ll leave them grinning from ear-to-ear.”
Those attending Sturgis will be among the first to have the opportunity to experience the all-new 2019 Slingshot lineup. Each Slingshot model packs a GM Ecotec 2.4L DOHC four-cylinder engine and delivers 173 horsepower by way of a five-speed manual transmission. The unique configuration of the Slingshot, with no doors and an open cockpit, offers a motorcycle-like riding experience. Its side-by-side bucket seats allow riders to share the experience with a passenger, and its industry-leading Ride Command infotainment system keeps the rider connected to vehicle information, maps with GPS navigation on select models, phone pairing and more. Additionally, the favorable power-to-weight ratio delivers a fun, exhilarating ride like no other.

Making its Sturgis Motorcycle Rally debut, the Slingshot Joyrides Course will allow riders to experience the fun and exhilaration of riding “shotgun” in the three-wheeled, five-speed, 173-horsepower Slingshot roadster. Professional drivers will navigate “The Ultimate Joyride” through a custom-built drift course.

On Thursday, August 9, Slingshot owners will assemble at Rice’s Rushmore Motorsports’ all-new location,at 2:30 p.m. in Rapid City. The group will ride through the scenic Black Hills National Forest. Concluding at Sturgis Buffalo Chip, riders will be welcomed with food, beverages and music.
