Report: College to begin offering powersports service degree program

Southeastern Illinois College has in the past offered a Powersports Technology certificate program, but this fall the Harrisburg, Illinois college will address growing demand for technicians by offering a full degree program, according to a report from WSIL TV.

Instructor Ralph Boots told WSIL TV that a lot has changed when it comes to diagnosing and making repairs.

“Years ago, we used to have carburetors. We no longer have those. They’re fully electronic engines. They’re fully fuel injected and they have computer systems and different kinds of systems that you have to maintain with an electronic service tool,” Boots said.
