Lawsuit filed over Buffalo Chip crash
Royce Rath, one of the people who was injured in the Aug. 7 motorcycle demo accident at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, has filed a lawsuit against the rider, the bike manufacturer and the show host, reported the Argus Leader.
Rolands Sands, who was driving a custom Indian Motorcycle, failed to stop the bike and rolled off the stage, injuring four people. The bike was designed without front brakes.
Rath suffered permanent disability, medical expenses and the loss of wages and earning capacity, according to his lawsuit. Rath has filed a lawsuit against Roland Sands, Polaris Industries, Inc. and the Buffalo Chip Campground.
