RideNow to take over 42-year-old dealership
After 42 years in the powersports industry, Purcells Powersports has closed its doors. Beginning June 29, RideNow Powersports will take possession of the Jacksonville-based dealership.
Purcells Powersports’ Gary Purcell posted a message on Facebook, announcing the dealership’s closure and the transition to the RideNow earlier this week:
After 42 years in Business, Purcells Powersports would like to announce it has closed its doors. Today marks the last day Purcell’s Powersport’s will be open. Today marks an end of an era. Purcell’s Motorcycle and Marine is officially closed. We have had the honor and privilege of serving the greater Jacksonville area. Thousands of units have been sold, serviced, customized and warranted. We have made many lifelong friends along the way. And it marks the end of one era..and the beginning of a new one..
Starting Thursday, June 29th at 9am RideNow, the Nations LARGEST dealer group takes possession of the location at 6407 Blanding Blvd. Those not familiar with RideNow..it’s the Country’s Largest Dealer Group Born from a small Honda dealership operating out of a rented building on Arizona Avenue in Chandler, Arizona in 1983, RideNow Powersports has grown into the nation’s largest powersports dealer. We operate over 30 dealerships in Arizona, California, Florida, Kansas, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas & Washington, selling the powersports industry’s top products from Polaris, Can-Am, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Indian, Victory, Triumph, Ducati, KTM, Apilia, Vespa, Piaggio, Royal Enfield and SSR. As it has since our humble beginnings, that same passion and vision drives us now – provide our customers and riders across the nation with a premium buying experience and outstanding customer service.
What does this mean for the area? Many things. There are a ton of things in the works..but first biggest plus is our buying power. With so many locations we are able to get the best deals, and pass them on to YOU the customer. We will have a MUCH larger selection of New and Pre-Owned units. We will have a much larger parts and accessory department. More techs, Better service department. There will be test rides, off site events, bike nights, open houses..everything you could want and need. We are passionate about this industry. We do what we do because we LOVE it. Its a passion in our blood. And we want to share our passion with you.
In the next coming weeks there will be a lot of changes happening. So we DO ask that folks have patience with us as we make the necessary changes. Remodel. Build the inventory. Bring in new products. Set up events. WE WILL CHANGE THE WAY JACKSONVILLE VIEWS POWERSPORT’S!! Are YOU ready!!??!!
