Dealership, Pepsi raise money or Veterans Honor Flight

Pepsi Mid America and Black Diamond Harley-Davidson of Marion, Ill., teamed up to present Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois with a large donation, reported by The Southern Illinoisan.

The inaugural Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois received a $14,035 donation, made up of the proceeds from a motorcycle raffle sponsored by Pepsi. The dealership offered Pepsi officials a Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 Iron motorcycle at cost, and Pepsi sold 1,000 raffle tickets for $25 each.  

Plans for a second fundraiser and in the process.

“We’re proud to be a part of it ourselves, and we’ll definitely do it again,” said Shad Zimbro, co-owner of Black Diamond Harley-Davidson, in an interview with The Southern Illinoisan.
