Polaris issues electric vehicle recall
Polaris has issued a recall on certain 2016-17 GEM electric vehicles when it was found that the front wheel lug nuts may loosen. In affected models, the lug nuts may loosen and the wheel can separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall affects 1,254 units, including certain 2016-17 GEM E2, E4, E6 and ELXD electric vehicles, equipped with steel wheels.
GEM will notify owners. The manufacturer has not yet finalized a remedy plan, nor provided a notification schedule.
