Grant approved for ATV park

A proposal for an all-terrain vehicle adventure park in Heard County, Georgia, was just awarded a federal recreational trails grant of $1.1 million for the Bush Head Shoals State ATV Park project, reported The Newnan Times-Herald.

Plans for the ATV park were first announced in December at the Newnan Rotary Club meeting by Georgia’s deputy commissioner of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources William Rabon.

Rabon said that the state has owned the 700-acre property for several years without development. The site is located just off Highway 34 West, between Newnan and Franklin, Georgia.

The project is still in it’s early stages, but more than half of $2.3 million in grants available to all Georgia projects was awarded to the ATV park’s plans.
