South Dakota law enforcement gains off-road motorcycle

The Sioux Falls Police Department is expanding its vehicle fleet with an off-road bike, according to an article in the Argus Leader.

Beginning in November, Sioux Falls Police began using a Triumph Tiger XR for use during patrols. In partnership with Vern Eide Triumph, the city will lease a new Triumph Tiger from the dealership for $1 a year.

Lieutenant Jeff Garden said that the off-road motorcycle will be an asset to the fleet: “Pretty much every day it’s going to be in use in the parks service — parks, the bike trail and things like that.”
