Former dealership employee charged with embezzlement

A former employee of Capitol Harley-Davidson in Dimondale, Michigan, has been charged with embezzling $280,000 from the dealership over five years.

Stephen Elliot, 51, is accused of selling parts on the side, while keeping the money himself, the Lansing State Journal reported. The theft occurred from 2009-14, when Elliott began running the business, as owner David Bell began stepping away from daily operations.

Elliot has been charged with embezzlement of more than $100,000 and faces up to 20 years in prison, if convicted. He last worked for the dealership in 2014.
