If May retail sales felt slow at your dealership, you weren’t alone. New data provided to Powersports Business by CDK Global Recreation of 1,576 U.S. dealers who use the Lightspeed DMS shows that parts, service and unit retail sales combined to decrease by 5 percent overall in May compared to May 2015.

Parts took the biggest hit, down in all five U.S. geographic regions for a 6 percent decrease. Unit sales decreased by 4.4 percent, and service was down 1.4 percent.

The Northeast was the big loser, with unit sales down 17.4 percent, parts down 16 percent and service down 9 percent for an overall decrease of 16.5 percent.

We’ll display the entire map graphic once again in the upcoming edition of Powersports Business.

How did sales shape up at your dealership in May? What contributed to the increase or decrease?
