50 Below lays off 20 employees

ARI Network Services has laid off 20 Duluth, Minn.-based 50 Below employees, the Duluth News Tribune reported.

ARI CEO Roy Olivier cited a need for efficiency and getting cost structures in line as the reasons for the layoffs. 50 Below’s Duluth workforce has been reduced to 121 employees. Olivier reported the layoffs to 20 operations and publishing employees came last Friday.

50 Below is currently preparing to move its Duluth employees from two downtown Duluth locations into one 25,000-square-foot space that would allow it to grow to 185 employees.
