IHS to acquire data provider Polk for $1.4 billion

IHS Inc. has announced plans to acquire Polk, a provider of automotive and powersports data and marketing solutions.

IHS Inc. (NYSE:IHS), the leading global source of critical information and analytics, today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire R.L. Polk & Co., a recognized leader in providing automotive information and analytics solutions. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including expiration or termination of the applicable waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976. An IHS supplemental investor presentation presented an acquisition price of $1.4 billion.
