KTM reports record first-half sales

KTM sold a record 50,233 motorcycles in the first half of 2012, an increase of 36 percent over the year-ago period.

Despite an industry-wide decrease in motorcycle sales in Europe, KTM reported a 41 percent market share increase in Europe to 7 percent of the total market. The company attributed its success to the off-road Freeride 350 and the launch of the KTM and Bajaj-partnered Duke in India.
