Court: Chinese PWC maker must halt use of Suzuki engines

American Suzuki Motor Corp. has obtained a temporary restraining order against a Chinese boat manufacturer for selling PWC and jet boats with unlicensed Suzuki engines.

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida issued a temporary restraining order against Jiujiang Hison Motor Boat Manufacturing Co, Ltd. (“Hison”), requiring Hison to take its PWC and jet boats with Suzuki engines off the market immediately.

The temporary restraining order specifically prohibits Hison from manufacturing, importing, selling, distributing, advertising or promoting PWC and jet boats with Suzuki engines in the U.S.

Not only is Hison unlicensed to use Suzuki engines on those products, the suitability of Suzuki engines in PWC and jet boats has not been tested by Suzuki. Consumers are notified that the infringing engines mounted in Hison’s PWC and jet boats are not warranted by Suzuki.

    1. My thought also mike. Amazing Suzuki has pulled this scam. Sell them the engines and then sue them for using them!!! Outrageous. Amazing this angle was not covered by the story.

      1. supplier of engines suzuki Hison to have in China. Hison is sold only in China apareils Suzuki can not intervene. However, export demand suzuki conformance tests for other countries. Hison not want to pay too, are willing to sell thanks to Suzuki Motor and the copy of the shell seedoo but want to go out the dollars

  1. I wonder if BRP will do the same thing before CFMOTO ( Zhejiang CFMOTO Power Co., Ltd.) comes out with their “jet boat” that is copied from the BRP Utopia Jet Boat. The boat is already out in other countries and the prototype will be coming to the US soon. The proto-type Can-Am Outlander 800 copy is already in the US!
It is time these companies stand up to these Chinese “copy cats”!!!

  2. I’m pretty sure that Hison copied the Suzuki engine, that is why it was described as “unlicensed”! Hison PWCs are blatant copies of Sea-Doos and Kawasaki designs, the first of which had this knock off Suzuki engine for power.

  3. What do you think of that made Hison gives false CE certificate and that customers who purchased ons can not register the Jets?
