The national unemployment rate dropped 0.2 percentage points to 8.3 percent in the month of January, according to the latest stats from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
According to the BLS, total non-farm payroll employment rose by 243,000 in January, with 257,000 jobs added in the private sector. The largest gains were in professional and business services, leisure and hospitality and manufacturing.
The total number of unemployed fell year-over-year from 13.919 million unemployed in January 2011 to 12.758 million in January 2012.
Sorry, most don’t believe unemployment is down. Obama removed 2.5 million jobs as permanently gone, which changed the math and is untrue. People just stopped looking. Plus, what about the service people that will now be looking for civilian employment.
