Sport bikes sales increase; Houston a big sales winner, up 9.2 % YOY

Better than June 2015, and up 39 percent YTD

Dealerships in the Houston area have been selling a significant amount of sport bikes over the past year, according to data from Statistical Surveys, Inc. The Houston area has shown a 43.4 percent increase (rolling 12-month, April 2015-April 2016) in sport bike sales, the highest market growth in the segment in the nation.

Los Angeles (25.1 percent) and Dallas-Fort Worth (20.9) also were big movers in the sport bike segment for that time period.

Overall, the sport bike market in the U.S. during that time period was up 9.2 percent. Phoenix dealers had a 3.0 percent decrease in sport bike sales, the Statistical Surveys, Inc. data shows.
