Bell adds flat tracker to lineup

Known as one of the toughest competitors in the rough-and-tumble world of flat track racing, Jared Mees will be lining up with some added confidence this year, courtesy of Bell. Now part of the company’s pro roster, Mees will be wearing Bell’s award-winning Moto-9 helmet in the AMA Expert Singles class, and the ultra-light Bell Star Carbon in AMA Expert Twins competition.

“I’ve been a big fan of Bell since I was a kid, so when they asked me to join their team, I jumped at the opportunity,” said Mees. “I recently had the chance to tour Bell’s technology center in Scotts Valley [Calif.] and I was very impressed by how much work they put into helmet performance and safety. I’m looking forward to a great season and am very proud to be running Bell in 2012.”

“Bell has a long and storied history in flat track that goes back to racing greats like Mert Lawwill and Cal Rayborn,” Bell brand manager Brian Horton said. “Jared Mees is a rider in the same tradition, and a great ambassador for the sport. We’re thrilled to have him wear Bell in 2012!”
