Kawasaki names Brenan to government affairs post
Russ Brenan, a 13-year veteran of the marketing team at Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., has been named senior advisor, government relations and public affairs, for the company. Brenan takes over a department that had been led for more than 30 years by Roger Hagie, who retired.
Brenan, who most recently served as Kawasaki’s advertising supervisor, also spent several years in the company’s public relations department, as public relations supervisor, trade/enthusiast media supervisor, and senior coordinator, advertising and public relations. Prior to joining Kawasaki, he was a key account manager and contemporary marketing team supervisor with Anheuser-Busch, Inc.
Brenan becomes the company’s primary conduit between Kawasaki’s product development efforts and the regulatory community. He will oversee all components of the company’s outreach in this area and will also represent the product marketer on numerous industry association boards and committees.
He will be active in all product categories, including motorcycles, ATVs, utility vehicles and PWC.
“His intimate knowledge of both the technical and usage aspects of all Kawasaki products will be a significant benefit to the company as he works to assure compliance with all applicable regulations,” said Shinichiro Yokoyama, general manager, product advancement and racing.
