Suzuki makes organizational changes

American Suzuki Motor Corp.’s Motorcycle/ATV & Marine Division has announced several organizational changes.

Toru Muraki was appointed executive vice president Motorcycle/ATV & Marine at ASMC, replacing Masashi Tanaka. Larry Vandiver, senior director, was appointed head of Motorcycle/ATV Sales Division and will have the responsibility for all sales and marketing. Vandiver will also concurrently assume the existing responsibility of Marine Sales senior director under Takashi Futamura, a director who will continue as head of the Marine Sales division.

Jim Kirkland, director, will become head of Motorcycle/ATV & Marine Service Division. Mark Eastman, senior director and head of the Operations Division, will have the responsibility of Parts, Accessories, IT and Logistics.

The existing Motorcycle/ATV and Marine Division management team remains unchanged.

The organizational changes were made “in an effort to strengthen our communications for successful business operations,” the company said in a press release. “We believe that these changes will result in improved communication and clear leadership and direction within ASMC, with SMC and with our valued dealers [and] customers.”

  1. Suzuki got what was comming to them, I was a suzuki motorcycle and atv dealer and they just about broke us.
    They did not produce any motorcycles or atv’s in 2010 to sell we were a sitting duck. we were supposed to sell year old units and stay in business. With this bankruptcy it will hurt the motorcycle and atv business
    because the brand is already falling by the wayside and customers will be leary.
