4/4/2011-A notable retail sales spike

For the first time in nearly five years, the industry experienced a retail sales increase that hit a double-digit percentage.
Same store sales from metric and V-twin dealerships across the United States surged 15 percent in February over the previous-year month, according to data provided by ADP?Lightspeed to Powersports Business.
The retail sales rise represents the sixth consecutive month of increases over the previous-year month. But more notably, it is the first double-digit percentage increase since May 2006.
Unit sales, both used and new, were up nationally 18 percent.
