Motorcycle brand returns to the U.S.

Britain’s Norton Motorcycles is returning to the U.S. market this spring with three sport bike models, the company announced.

Leading the company’s return to the U.S. market will be Dan Van Epps, a European motorcycle industry veteran and past CEO of Ducati North America.

“This is really an exciting opportunity for us, and we are all confident about our future,” Van Epps said in a press release. “However, I am keenly aware of the magnitude of the responsibility in the introduction of Norton to the United States.”

Starting in May, Norton will begin U.S. deliveries of the Norton Commando series of sport bikes. Models include the traditional Commando 961 Sport, the 961 Café Racer and the performance-oriented 961 SE. Every model, the company said, will feature a 961cc computer-controlled, fuel-injected, parallel twin engine and Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes.
