Teaser image shows yet-to-be revealed bike model

Ducati has provided a teaser image of what the Italian manufacturer will unveil at the upcoming EICMA International Motorcycle Show.

The image shows a barely illuminated view of the company’s new Diavel, which Ducati said will feature a superbike-derived Testastretta engine and “456 pounds of authentic Ducati performance.”

The model’s name Diavel — pronounced Dee-ah-vel — comes from the Italian manufacturer’s local Bolognese dialect for “devil.” Ducati says the name came about early in the development process when a prototype was wheeled out in front of a group of Ducati engineers. One of the engineers, looking from the rear of the bike, saw its silhouette and exclaimed, “Evil, like the devil!”
