AMA releases nationwide voting guide
The American Motorcyclist Association is gearing up motorcycle enthusiasts for fall elections by releasing a nationwide voter guide and launching a “Vote Like a Motorcyclist” campaign, according to news from the AMA’s Web site.
The voting guide, which is available to members on the AMA Web site, is a first of its kind for the motorcyclists. The AMA has rated federal and gubernatorial candidates of the major political parties based on how the candidates’ answers to an AMA questionnaire align with the AMA’s positions.
“The elections on Nov. 2 are some of the most important in many years for the future of motorcycling,” Ed Moreland, AMA senior vice president for government relations, said in the release. “It’s critical for motorcyclists to get out and vote to help protect their right to ride.”
The AMA is selling T-shirts, posters and pins with the “Vote Like a Motorcyclist” slogan to promote the campaign.
