Intermot groups extend partnership through 2016

The German Motorcycle Industry Association (IVM) has agreed with Koelnmesse to extend its collaboration on Intermot earlier than planned so manufacturers, dealers and enthusiasts will have planning security beyond this year.

The new agreement extends to the end of 2016.

“Both parties to the agreement – IVM and Koelnmesse – joined forces in 2004 to further strengthen Intermot Cologne as a leading international motorcycle fair,”? Oliver Kuhrt, executive vice president of Koelnmesse GmbH, and Reiner Brendicke, chief executive of IVM, said in a joint statement. “The very close, intensive and successful partnership between IVM and Koelnmesse has given Intermot a new boost and provided the sector with sustained momentum.”

In 2008, Intermot hosted nearly 200,000 buyers and enthusiasts, who came to the event from 110 countries. A total of 1,052 suppliers from 36 countries presented their new products. The suppliers included BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha.
