BMW recalls F650 and F800GS bikes

About 4,500 motorcycles were recalled by BMW North America because of a potential stalling condition, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The BMW F650 GS and F800 GS model years 2008-2010 were recalled. During engine operation, a vacuum is created in order to draw fresh air into the canister. The air then mixes with the fuel vapors captured by the canister, and is subsequently combusted. Due to the routing of the ventilation hose, water near the end of the hose could be drawn in the charcoal canister, which could cause a stalling condition, reported the NHTSA.

The vehicles were manufactured from January 2008-December 2009.
