BMW leader to head motorcycle manufacturers’ association
The International Motorcycle Manufacturers Association has elected Hendrik von Kuenheim, BMW motorcycle’s new leader, as president, BMW said in a May 19 press release.
von Kuenheim succeeds Minoru Harada from Honda, who held the office since May 2006.
The association joins major motorcycle manufacturers from around the world together to develop common technical standards and discuss the interests of the industry in all parts of the world. The association is active at the United Nations World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Technical Regulations.
As one of the objectives during his presidency, von Kuenheim has called for “a committed role in the current international debate on road safety.”
