Aprilia unveils its first Superbike
Piaggio SpA announced its brand Aprilia plans to enter the Superbike motorbike racing competition in 2009 with its first Superbike that has a four-cylinder, 1,000 cubic cm capacity motor, according to a company press release.
Currently the company only has a prototype of the 200 hp Superbike, but the actual bike will be available later this year.
Piaggio wouldn’t comment on the Superbike expenditure but did say there will be a return on investment because 1,000 units of the Superbike engine have to be produced for public sale each year.
