Piaggio creates three- and four-wheeler division

Piaggio Group has restructured a portion of its company, creating separate divisions for its two-wheel business and its three- and four-wheel business, the company said in a statement Dec. 20.

The new three- and four-wheel business division will be responsible for worldwide management of the group’s industrial and commercial operations in the light transport business. The new division will hold R&D, engineering and production, and sales and marketing responsibilities for Piaggio’s Ape, Porter and Quargo ranges.

Franco Fenoglio has been tapped to head the new division. He will join the company Jan. 1. Fenoglio holds a degree in political science from Turin University. He has spent his career in the international automotives industry and was formerly senior vice president of international operations and business development at Iveco Fiat S.p.A. He is currently president and CEO of New Holland Construction Equipment S.p.A.
