United Kingdom bike sales climb 8 percent in November
Motorcycle sales increased 8 percent in November in the United Kingdom, according to the Motor Cycle Industry Association. There were 8,949 units sold this November compared to 8,187 units sold during the same period last year.
The touring (up 45.1 percent) and naked (up 25.5 percent) segments have had the largest increases. Unlike most of the motorcycle segments, mopeds saw a decline of 2 percent.
For specific models year-to-date, the Suzuki GSXR 1000 is leading with 2,151 models sold, which is 1.6 percent of the market. The Baotian BT 49 QT-9 is leading the moped scooters with 1,362 models sold year-to-date.
