Suzuki to build second motorcycle plant in China

Suzuki Motor Corp. said in a recent press release that it plans to build a second motorcycle factory in China.

The factory is expected to begin operations in spring of 2009, according to the Nikkei Business Daily. The factory is expected to produce 500,000 motorcycles in the first year and more than 2 million units a year by 2014.

Suzuki hopes to increase its share of China’s motorcycle market with the second factory.
