Yamaha recalls PZ50 snowmobiles because of steering problems

About 5,700 model year 2007 PZ50 snowmobiles were recalled due to loss of steering ability when buildup of snow and ice occurs around the steering idler arm, posing a risk of injury and death to drivers and passengers. However, there have been no injuries reported, according to a Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) report.

Consumers should immediately stop using the PZ50 snowmobiles and contact an authorized Yamaha snowmobile dealer to schedule a free repair. Registered owners were sent a direct mail notification of the recall.

The snowmobiles were sold from June 2006-September 2007 by Yamaha dealers nationwide. Yamaha voluntarily conducted the snowmobile recall in cooperation with the CPSC.
