Yamaha to build its first motorcycle factory in Argentina
Yamaha announced it will start operations in April at its first motorcycle plant in Argentina, according to the company’s press release.
Argentina’s motorcycle demand has been increasing with its recovering economy. Yamaha says it hopes to produce 6,000 motorcycles at the factory annually.
Yamaha currently exports motorcycles to Argentina through a local group firm, but because the Argentina government imposed import restrictions to protect domestic industry this year, Yamaha believes it’s necessary to launch local production.
