Indian Motorcycle moves back production schedule

The owners of Indian Motorcycle Co. have stepped back the date of its initial production, saying the new Chief will be available either in the second or third quarter of 2008.
The Kings Mountain, N.C.,-based company had originally targeted 2007 as its first model year “but we have discovered we need more time to deliver a product that will meet our expectations and yours,” the company said in a September news release on its Web site.
The news release also disclosed the company has hired two former Harley-Davidson employees as its general manager and vice president of engineering.
