UM reports growth for first half

United Motors (UM) has seen significant growth in the U.S. market for the first half of 2007, the company said in a statement Aug. 7.

Compared to the period of January to June 2006, UM has seen a 30 percent increase in wholesale sales and a 20 percent increase in retail sales during the same period in 2007. The company attributes its 48 new dealers in the first half with aiding its sales.

In an effort to reach more dealers, the company has added two more regional sales managers: one in New England and one for a Western region comprised of Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. UM plans to add three more regional sales managers in the next two months: two in California and one in Texas, bringing the total number to 11 nationwide.
