Hydrospace Offering ECU Deal Until Aug. 15
Participating U.S. Hydrospace dealers recently began offering the $995 “Pro Pack” with the purchase of a new S4 watercraft. The promotion runs until Aug. 15.
At the heart of the offering is the 140 ECU, an electronic control unit that is the only part required to upgrade the stock S4 to U.S. APBA/IJSBA Limited Class specifications. The Pro Pack price represents more than $1,500 in savings.
Freestyle Champ Malone Takes Break From Competition
Making good on the plan he indicated following the 2006 World Finals, freestyle champion Eric Malone recently announced that he would indeed be taking the year off from competition.
Malone plans to focus his efforts on a variety of projects that should be of interest to personal watercraft dealers — a new video and his own Eric Malone Enterprises (EME) EME 800cc and EME 1000cc signature watercraft.
In addition, Malone plans to continue to develop the World Freestyle Watercraft Alliance stunt shows, as well as work with the IJSBA on the first-ever junior freestyle clinic, to take place during the October World Finals. “I am very excited about this,” Malone said of the latter project, “because in order for our sport to continue its growth, we need to encourage the next generation of athletes to step into the limelight, and continue the dreams that fuels our competitive energy toward the sport.”
The break from competition also coincides with a recent injury. Malone broke a bone in his wrist snowboarding this past winter, and has undergone a pair of operations, as well as a bone graft, to ensure its proper healing. psb
