All industry segments that are reported to the Motorcycle Industry Council were down in the first three months of the year.
The two biggest segments of the industry — ATV and on-highway motorcycles — were down 10.7 percent and 2.6 percent in the first quarter.
The downturn in ATV sales for MIC-reporting companies continues a two-year trend. Last year, ATV sales dropped about 4 percent.
On-highway bike sales, however, showed they could be rebounding. March sale numbers were up nearly 9 percent above the prior year.
